He Wants Free Tickets, APC Criticize Obi Over Resignation From ADC

Following his resignation from the African Democratic Congress, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has come under fire from Felix Morka, national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress.
In a Sunday post on X, Morka called Obi a “political rolling stone,” accusing him of switching parties in pursuit of a simple presidential ticket.
He wrote, “Peter Obi, a political rolling stone that gathers no moss… roaming again in search of a free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket… never willing to remain to build any party.”
He also claimed that Obi favors a route to power that avoids internal party disputes.

Morka continued, “He dreams of being president on a ticket delivered only on a platter of gold… APGA – PDP – LP – ADC and on to NDC.”
In closing, the APC spokesperson called the former governor of Anambra State a “political drifter.”
Goodbye, Nigeria’s hopeless political nomad.
Obi had previously declared his intention to leave the African Democratic Congress, citing the party’s internal problems and what he called a poisonous political climate.
Obi said in a statement released on Sunday that his decision was the result of careful consideration and persistent difficulties, such as internal conflicts and divisions that have diverted the party from tackling national issues.
He insisted that he still respects party leaders like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Senate President David Mark and that his departure was not the result of personal differences with them.
Additionally, Obi reaffirmed that he is not desperate for political office, emphasizing that enhancing Nigerians’ well-being and creating a more cohesive society continue to be his top priorities.
He insisted that a better Nigeria is still possible despite leaving, reiterating his faith in the potential for capable and caring leadership in the nation.
