Jose Mourinho Appears And Speak In First Interview Since Signing For Real Madrid
José Mourinho, the recently appointed Real Madrid manager, went to the club’s television network for his first formal interview since taking over after finishing his first morning workout at the team’s Valdebebas training facility.
“This feels like a mission, so words are insufficient. It’s not about worrying about how much I’ll win or how little. I’m here to help everyone improve—staff, players, etc. I am well-versed in fostering a culture of hard work, accountability, and ambition—responsibility and the honor of working for Real Madrid. This idea is really appealing to me. It’s about working for Real Madrid, not about working at Real Madrid. And I am here with this mission-driven spirit,” Mourinho remarked.
The Portuguese coach shared his pre-season strategy for 2026–2027.
“Making the most of the next two weeks with optimism because, of course, I would like to have every player present.” It’s about getting to know the boys I’ll be working with and giving them the chance to get to know me, so you have to see it positively. Many of these boys will be here with Castilla during the preseason, and I like taking part in and supporting the development of this community. Here we are, accompanied by a few world champions. “Hala Madrid y nada,” he continued, “with great confidence, with a strong feeling that I love this club.”
Additionally, Mourinho stated that he has been involved with the front office for a considerable amount of time.
“We put in a lot of work. It’s not as though I just got here and everything has just begun. We have been putting a lot of effort into the club’s structure on several levels for a long time. Technology has made it possible for us to work without being physically present today, and today has essentially been about arriving and “checking” everything that has been completed and what we still need to do,” he said.
