Cambodia Set May 31 2026 Mandated All Africans National To Leave The Country Or Face Immigration Wrath

Cambodia is a southeast Asian national renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and the majestic ruins of Angkor watr.
According to reports, Cambodia has mandated that African nationals who are eligible for an amnesty or immigration waiver leave the country by May 31, 2026, or face arrest and prosecution under its immigration laws.
The directive affects citizens of several African nations, such as Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, and Uganda, whose stay in the country was covered by the aforementioned waiver arrangement or whose immigration fines had been settled, according to reports citing a notice from Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Interior.
According to the reported notice, foreigners who are discovered to be overstaying in Cambodia will be arrested by Cambodian police starting on June 1, 2026, and they will be turned over to immigration authorities for legal action.
According to reports, noncompliance could result in up to two years in prison and a fine of $8,000, or roughly 4.5 million FCFA, before being permitted to depart the nation.
The action coincides with Cambodia’s broader campaign against transnational cybercrime syndicates, illegal immigration, and human trafficking, especially online scam networks that have come under increasing international scrutiny.
The reported directive that targets African nationals under the waiver arrangement has not been publicly confirmed for any specific official reason.
