Victor Boniface might not be in the matchday squad for Werder Bremen’s upcoming Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg, according to head coach Daniel Thioune.
After joining the team on loan during the summer transfer window, Boniface has had a patchy season marred by injuries. His most recent problem was a knee injury from which he recently recovered.
The Nigerian international did not play in Bremen’s 1-1 draw with VfB Stuttgart despite returning to the team last week.
Thioune has stated that the forward still has difficulties getting a spot in the squad for the game against Augsburg, despite the fact that his return represents a significant advancement in his recuperation.
Prior to the game against Augsburg, Thioune said that the return of important players like Marco Friedl and Marco Gr� has increased competition for positions.

The manager of Bremen also talked about whether Boniface’s physical style of play could be especially useful against Augsburg, a team known for their tough style.
Thioune acknowledged the Nigerian forward’s strengths but emphasized that he has a number of alternatives with similar attributes.
“My team also includes other strikers who are physically strong. For example, Salim Musah’s contributions have been greatly appreciated. ” Jovan Milosevic has a similar profile,” he said.
Thioune emphasized that no player is guaranteed a spot and added that the final decisions will be based on training performances.
