TikToker Peller Recounts Four-Day Detention After Arrest, Alleges Harsh Conditions in Police Custody

Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator Peller has spoken publicly about his experience following his recent arrest by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, alleging that he spent four days in detention without adequate access to food or basic hygiene facilities.

The social media personality made the claims in a series of posts shared on his Snapchat account, where he narrated what he described as one of the most difficult experiences of his life after being taken into police custody.

Peller was arrested alongside his friend, Bello Oladipo, on July 2 after they were reportedly stopped by police officers while driving along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road. According to police authorities, the vehicle they were travelling in allegedly had no registration plate, prompting officers to intercept them for further investigation.

The matter later escalated, leading to both men being taken into custody before subsequently appearing before a Magistrate Court in Lagos.

During their arraignment, prosecutors filed a three-count charge against the defendants, alleging that they resisted arrest, obstructed police officers while carrying out their lawful duties, and threatened as well as recorded police personnel during the operation.
