Nigerians really know how to defend the indefensible whenever their favorite person is being questioned.
I have a few questions that deserve clear answers.
If the allegation is that Barrister Marshall collected ₦2.5 million from someone whose case was eventually handled by Verydarkblackman, under what arrangement was that money collected?
From VDM’s video, he appeared to suggest he was not aware of those alleged payments at the time they were requested and made. If that’s the case, then it naturally raises questions.
VDM has repeatedly stated that he bears the financial responsibility for the cases he handles, including the costs associated with pursuing them. If that has always been the policy, then why would a complainant allegedly pay ₦2.5 million for a petition in a case VDM was already handling?
Some people have argued that the ₦500,000 allegedly given to another individual was merely an appreciation or “fuel money.” But from what has been alleged, that payment reportedly happened before the complainants even met VDM. If that timeline is accurate, then it would be difficult to describe it as appreciation after services had already been rendered.
Back to the ₦2.5 million.
If VDM genuinely had no knowledge of that alleged payment, why was it collected in the first place? And if he has consistently maintained that petitions and case-related expenses are covered by him, then what exactly was the ₦2.5 million meant for?
I also recall VDM previously stating that, where funds are successfully recovered, a percentage would go to the lawyer. If that arrangement already existed, then it is reasonable to ask what the separate ₦2.5 million allegedly covered.
Watching VDM’s recent video on the matter, he appeared uncomfortable addressing the allegations involving Barrister Marshall. Whether that impression is accurate or not, the questions remain.
Seeking accountability should never depend on who is involved. If the allegations are false, they should be clearly disproved. If they are true, they should be properly explained.
No one should be above legitimate questions.
People should always air their opinion irrespective of the bashing.
