Nigeria’s First Lady has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what she described as his commitment to transforming Abuja, expressing confidence that history and future generations will remember his contributions to the nation’s capital.
The First Lady made the remarks during a public event in the Federal Capital Territory, where she commended the pace of ongoing infrastructure development and urban renewal projects being executed under Wike’s leadership.
Addressing guests at the occasion, she acknowledged the extensive road construction, rehabilitation of public facilities and other developmental initiatives currently underway across different parts of Abuja.
According to her, visible improvements in the city reflect deliberate efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents while strengthening the image of Nigeria’s capital.
She stated that leadership is often measured not only by words but by tangible achievements that leave lasting benefits for citizens.
The First Lady noted that many of the projects being delivered in the FCT have already begun changing the physical landscape of Abuja, making the city more accessible and attractive for residents, visitors and investors alike.
She therefore expressed optimism that the minister’s efforts would earn him favourable recognition in the future.
“Posterity will judge you well,” she said, adding that leaders who dedicate themselves to public service through meaningful development often leave enduring legacies.
The First Lady also encouraged public office holders across the country to remain committed to delivering projects that directly improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He maintained that collaboration between the Presidency and the FCT Administration has made it possible to accelerate several projects that had previously faced delays.
