Muhammad, the son of Abacha, loses the Kano PDP governorship primary.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election in Kano State was lost by Muhammad Sani Abacha, the son of Nigeria’s late head of state, Gen. Sani Abacha.
Muhammad Bello Dalhatu, who won the party’s gubernatorial primary ahead of the state’s upcoming election, defeated Abacha.
The exercise was carried out peacefully and in accordance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, according to Umar Danjani Hadejia, Chairman of the PDP Kano State Governorship Primary Election Committee, who made the announcement.
He claims that Muhammad Bello Dalhatu won the contest with 2,233 votes, while Muhammad Sani Abacha received 749.
“Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhatu is hereby declared the winner of the PDP gubernatorial primary election and consequently returned as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Kano State, having received the highest number of valid votes cast,” Hadejia declared.
He praised candidates, delegates, party officials, security personnel, and other participants for their cooperation and nonviolent behavior during the exercise.
Hadejia also exhorted party members to stick together and cooperate in order to help the PDP win the upcoming Kano State elections.
