Before I Was Born There Was Hunger In The Country -Tinubu Consistently Defend Harsh Economy Policy And Cost Of Living Crisis

In a widely shared video, Bola Tinubu stated that despite the challenges brought about by economic reforms, efforts were being made to raise Nigerians’ standard of living. He added that his administration inherited both assets and liabilities from the Bola Buhari-led government.

“Hunger existed before I was born,” Tinubu stated, clarifying that problems like poverty and food insecurity had existed for decades prior to his administration.
Noting that population growth was outside the direct control of any government, he added that Nigeria’s expanding population had continued to put pressure on available resources.

The comments coincide with ongoing public discussion about the effects of some of the administration’s significant economic choices, such as the elimination of the fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, which detractors claim have raised living expenses.
